Innovation in Action, Believers Hospital's 4th Research Day

Believers Hospital’s Department of Medical Research hosted its 4th Research Day on March 19, 2025, highlighting Believers Hospital's diverse research initiatives. Dr. Sabu Thomas (COEM, KSCSTE) and Dr. Rita Isaac (KUHS) inaugurated the event, followed by a poster presentation with nearly 100 entries across Clinical, Non-Clinical, & Diagnostic Research. The valedictory session featured speeches by key faculty members, including Dr. Jijo Joseph John, Dr. Alice David, Dr. George Chandy Matteethra, & Dr. Vijayamma. Dr. Sabu Thomas encouraged collaborations & funding pursuits, culminating in the signing of an MoU between Believers Hospital & COEM to foster future research partnerships.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony to honor outstanding research achievements:  

  • Best Researcher Award: Dr. Sangeetha Merrin Varghese, Department of Community Medicine  

  • Young Researcher Award: Dr. Anjali Anne Jacob, Department of Microbiology  

  • Individual awards were presented to faculty and students for their accomplishments in publications, extramural grants, patents, and poster presentations.  

  • The prestigious Best Department Award was presented to the Central Research Lab (CRL) for its active involvement in research.

  • Certificates of appreciation were awarded to students who received the prestigious ICMR STS Award.
