Overview

Believers International Heart centre is one of the few centres in the country to offer comprehensive cardiac care for all cardiac problems from conception to adulthood. BIHC pediatric cardiac team comprising of experienced pediatric cardiologists, pediatric cardiac surgeons and cardiac anesthesiologists, is one of the most experienced in the country having spent several decades in pediatric cardiac care in different parts of the world. They are supported by a very dedicated team of nurses, perfusionists, technicians and physiotherapists. The unit is backed by excellent pediatric and neonatology teams with well-equipped ICUs.The foetal echocardiography and obstetric teams work with the pediatric cardiac services to provide world-class antenatal and perinatal care to babies with congenital heart disease.

Outpatient services

  1. Pediatric Cardiology clinic- Diagnostic evaluation and management of all pediatric and congenital heart diseases.

  2. Pediatric Echocardiography

  3. Fetal echocardiography (Along with fetal medicine unit)

  4. Pediatric ECG and Holter monitoring

  5. Pacemaker evaluation for children

  6. Treadmill testing for older children

Inpatient services

  • Medical management of congenital heart diseases including care in PICU/NICU.

  • Perioperative management for congenital heart disease

  • Trans-oesophageal echocardiography

Pediatric Interventional catheter procedures

  • Device closure of defects (ASD, VSD, PDA)

  • Balloon Valvotomy for pulmonary/aortic stenosis

  • Balloon atrial septostomy

  • Balloon dilatation /stenting for coarctation of the aorta

  • Pulmonary artery stenting. Catheter closure of abnormal vascular channels.

Pediatric Cardiac Surgery

BIHC offers surgical correction/palliation to needy babies with congenital heart disease from the first day of life. This is made possible with the help of state of the art operation theatres and ICUs manned by a very experienced team of professionals.  Please see the section CTVS for common procedures undertaken.
