The Department of Nuclear Medicine at Believers Church Medical College and Hospital, we are committed to providing world class diagnostic and therapeutic services using advanced nuclear medicine facilities. Nuclear Medicine plays a crucial role in the early detection, accurate diagnosis, and targeted treatment of wide range of medical conditions, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders. By harnessing the power of radioactive materials, we are able to offer highly sensitive and non invasive imaging solutions that allow for a more precise understanding of disease processes within the body. This helps to not only detect diseases at their earliest stages but also monitor the effectiveness of treatments and and tailor them for better clinical outcomes. With a focus on personalized care, we prioritize patient comfort and safety throughout each procedure.
Nuclear Medicine department is the latest addition to the diverse and comprehensive array of departments at Believers Church Medical College and Hospital. The Nuclear Medicine department is envisioned to be equipped with state of the art technologies, such as PET/CT, SPECT/CT scanners, allowing for highly detailed images that provide a comprehensive view of both structural and functional abnormalities. This is particularly important for patients with complex conditions, as it enables our specialists to design more effective treatment plans. The department is also planning a state of the art robotic PET/CT guided biopsy suite. At the Believers Church Medical College and Hospital theranostic division of Nuclear Medicine department, we are planning for a three room radionuclide therapy suite facility with radionuclide therapy offered for differentiated thyroid cancer, metastatic neuroendocrine tumors and metastatic prostate cancer in addition to radionuclide pain palliation and TARE for hepatocellular carcinomas. These targeted radionuclide therapies, which have proven to be highly effective for specific cancers and other chronic illness, offering patients new hope and improved quality of life.
The Nuclear Medicine department at Believers Church Medical College Hospital plans to have the following facilities in the new cancer block which is currently under construction.
1. PET/CT
2. Gamma camera (SPECT /CT)
3. High dose radio iodine therapy facility
4. Robotic PET/CT guided biopsy
