The Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, under the Department of Pharmacology, is an integral part of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology services provided by Believers Church Medical College Hospital (BCMCH), Kerala. The Laboratory specializes in the quantification of small molecules in human matrices.
For quantification, we utilize state-of-the-art equipment including the Waters Xevo TQD Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer coupled with an ACQUITY UPLC H-class system. Our expert faculty focuses on developing in-house assay methods, validating them rigorously using International Council for Harmonization (ICH) M10 guidelines. This ensures the best specificity and sensitivity, while maintaining costs affordable for patients in low to middle-income countries.
Our laboratory is designed to advance research and education in chemical analysis, providing cutting-edge facilities for students, researchers, and industry professionals. Recognizing the critical role of individualized treatment in achieving optimal patient outcomes, we leverage advanced analytical techniques and the expertise of our dedicated team to deliver accurate and timely quantitative drug analyses.
Our commitment lies in empowering clinicians with the essential pharmacokinetic data needed to personalize dosage regimens, minimize toxicity, and ultimately enhance patient care.
Our team was honored with the Best Poster Award for the study titled, “Bringing Drug Chemistry into Assay Development Practice for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring”, presented at the RAPTDM 2025 conference in Penang, Malaysia (April 2025).
