Intersect 2026 – Where Disciplines Converge for Impact
Intersect 2026, a unique national interdisciplinary hackathon hosted by the Helix Innovation Club (BCMCH IEDC & BCMCH E-Cell) at Believers Hospital, was organized in partnership with Kerala Medical Technology Consortium (KMTC), Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC), National Resource Centre for Non-Communicable Diseases (NRC-NCD), Indian Medical Association (IMA), ARCA AI, AIRIS 4D, Young Innovators Fellowship and Saptha Union.
Over an intense 24-hour innovation sprint, around 40 participants from medicine, nursing, engineering and technology backgrounds worked in startup-style teams to develop solutions addressing socially relevant challenges including ADHD, stroke, blindness, dementia, osteoporosis, loneliness, unified health reporting system and low-cost biomedical devices.
We were privileged to receive guidance from distinguished leaders Dr. Girija Vaidyanathan, IAS (Retd.), Dr. K.B. Valsala Kumari, IAS (Retd.), and Shri Luxman Radhakrishnan, IAS (Retd.), along with global innovation mentors Dr. Feby Abraham (USA) and Dr. Obichi Obiajunwa (Nigeria), supported by 30+ mentors and experts from diverse fields.
Intersect reaffirmed a simple but powerful truth: when disciplines intersect, meaningful change begins.
