The Department of Transfusion Medicine and Immunohematology marked World Blood Donor Day on the 19th of June 2026 with a meaningful celebration centred on the theme "One Drop of Humanity – Give Blood, Save Lives."
The programme, dedicated to honouring voluntary blood donors and raising awareness of the critical need for regular donation, commenced with a prayer by Rev. Fr. Thomas.
Blood donors were specially honoured with certificates and mementos, a gesture that spoke volumes about the respect and admiration they deserve. The gathering then united in the Blood Donor's Pledge, renewing their dedication to voluntary donation for patients in need. Dr. Riju Mathew proposed a heartfelt vote of thanks, bringing the event to a gracious and memorable close.
