Believers Hospital proudly hosted the international conference “Unfolding Newer Innovations for Tomorrow’s Emergencies and Disasters (UNITED 25)”, organized in collaboration with Wayne State University, USA. The event focused on the urgent need for coordinated disaster management and aimed to empower medical professionals and the public through expert sessions, interactive discussions, and practical training.
The conference was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Sijo Pandapallil, Kerala Health University Senate Member and Manager of Believers Hospital, who emphasized the importance of community awareness and preparedness. The programme was presided over by Prof. Dr. George Chandy Matteethra, Director and CEO of Believers Hospital, and included valuable contributions from several distinguished speakers such as Sunny Kuruvila, Dr. Jiju Joseph, Dr. Lailu Mathews, Dr. Anupa Joseph, Dr. Vijaya Arunkumar, Gaikwad Sanket Tatyasaheb, and Dr. Ani Thomas Idikkula, each sharing significant insights related to disaster prevention and response. A major highlight of the event was the panel discussion led by Sumit Kumar Thakur IAS, Sub Collector, Thiruvalla, which offered comprehensive perspectives on pre-disaster preparedness, effective response mechanisms, coordinated post-disaster rehabilitation, and addressing the psychological, social, and economic well-being of affected individuals. The conference successfully united experts and stakeholders to strengthen resilience and readiness for future emergencies.
