Transforming Care, Empowering Leaders: The Future of Nursing Today

The BEACON 2025 International Nursing Conference, held on May 30, 2025, at the Mor Athanasius Yohan Memorial Convention Centre, was a landmark event hosted by the Department of Nursing. Centered around the theme “Transforming Care, Empowering Leaders: The Future of Nursing Today,” the conference brought together nursing professionals, academicians, and healthcare leaders to explore the evolving landscape of nursing.

The programme began on a Prayer Song followed by an opening Prayer led by Rev. Fr. Thomas Varghese.

The Welcome Address was delivered by Ms. Mini Sarah Thomas, who greeted the attendees and emphasized the importance of visionary leadership and innovation in nursing practice.

The Keynote Address was presented by Rev. Fr. Sijo Pandapallil who inspired the audience with reflections on the values of compassion, dedication, and continuous learning in nursing.

The Inaugural Address was delivered by Dr. George Chandy Matteethra. He highlighted the institution’s ongoing commitment to advancing nursing education and empowering nurses as frontline leaders in healthcare transformation.

Felicitations were offered by Dr. John Valliattu, and Dr. Abel K. Samuel Johnson. Both speakers commended the Nursing Department for their initiative and acknowledged the critical role nurses play in ensuring quality and compassionate care.

A special mention to Ms. Mini Sarah Thomas, Ms Ponnamma  Thomas and the entire Nursing team for their outstanding efforts in organizing and executing the conference with excellence.
