Believers celebrated World Mental Health Day with hope, healing, and harmony!!
The Department of Psychiatry proudly launched its digital magazine, “Ashara – Stories of Hope, Healing and Harmony” was released by Dr. Sairu Philip, Principal, GMC Kannur, who also delivered the keynote address.
Dr. Cijo Alex delivered the welcome speech, followed by a felicitatory address by Dr. John Valliattu (Associate Director-BCMCH). Dr. Chitra Venkateswaran shared her insights, while Dr. Aparna S introduced the magazine concept. Dr. Suman Vargese Sam delivered the vote of thanks.
The event also featured heartwarming performances by the specially abled children of YMCA Vikas Special School, and a thought provoking skit by MBBS students (Batch 2022), written and directed by Dr. Chithira Thomas, Senior Resident, Psychiatry, and coordinated by Ms. Joemol Joseph.
As part of the celebration, an outreach programme on Positive Mental Health in the Elderly was conducted by Dr. Suman Vargese Sam at Marthoma Church Hall, Thuruthikadu, reinforcing the message of compassion and care for all ages.
