BCMCH INNOVATE '25

BCMCH Innovate '25 marked a defining moment in the journey of Believers Hospital toward fostering a student-led culture of innovation in healthcare. The event served as a platform to officially launch the inaugural batch of medical student office bearers of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) at BCMCH, established under the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) with support from the Indian Medical Association (IMA).  

The event also celebrated the exceptional accomplishments of the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) at BCMCH, founded in association with the E-Cell of IIT Bombay. Believers Hospital emerged as a trailblazer, becoming the only medical college in India to attain Ambassador Rank among the top 50 institutions nationwide. Notably, it secured an outstanding All India Rank of 14 in the National Entrepreneurship Challenge again, the only medical college to rank within the top 100.  

BCMCH Innovate '25 was graced by Dr. Joseph Benavan , Chairman of IEC Kerala and Immediate Past President of IMA Kerala, and Smt. Surya Thankam ,  Manager at Kerala Startup Mission. Their keynote addresses highlighted the relevance of innovation and entrepreneurship in healthcare and the unique opportunities within Kerala’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.  

Mr. Bergin S. Russel, Head of Academic Entrepreneurship Activities at KSUM, delivered an insightful talk on engaging with the IEDC ecosystem. Prof. Dr. Philip Mathew presented an overview of BCMCH’s innovation initiatives, including IIC, IEDC, E-Cell, and other collaborative ventures.  

The event was further enriched by the presence of esteemed guests including Prof. Dr. Ninan Sajeeth Philip, Dean and Director of the AI Division at Airis4D; Dr. Geetha Paul, Director of the Biosciences Division at Airis4D; and Dr. Anu Ivan Koshy, Vice President of IMA Thiruvalla and Consultant at Thiruvalla Medical Mission.  

BCMCH Innovate '25 stood as a vibrant call to action, inviting the next generation of healthcare professionals to reimagine the future through innovation, creativity and curiosity.
