The Department of Geriatric Medicine at Believers Hospital, in collaboration with the IAG Kerala Chapter, successfully organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on "Updates in Geriatric Clinical Practice."
Dr. John Valliattu ( Associate Director-BCMCH ), led the opening prayer. He then formally inaugurated the CME. Following this, many senior consultants and academic leaders, including Dr. Lydia Jacob (Senior Consultant and Head, Dept. of Geriatric Medicine, BCMCH), Dr. Alisha S. Thomas (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Geriatric Medicine, BCMCH), Dr. George Paul (HOD, Geriatric Medicine, Rajagiri Hospital), Dr. S K Mathew (HOD, Dept. of Internal Medicine, BCMCH), Dr. Geo Philip John (Professor, Dept. of Nephrology, BCMCH), and Dr. Bharadhan Somu (Consultant, Infectious Disease, BCMCH), were the speakers.
The academic programme was highly dynamic and successful. Geriatric doctors from across Kerala generously shared their knowledge as faculty. The event saw wide attendance from undergraduate students, postgraduate trainees, and faculty members. The sessions and discussions focused entirely on modern, practical topics in geriatric medicine, and were very well received by the audience.
The day concluded with a competitive Undergraduate Quiz, where the students and interns of Believers Medical College secured both First and Third Place, with Amala Medical College students winning Second Place.
