World Hemophilia Day Awareness Program at Believers Church Medical College Hospital                                                                                                                                               
On World Hemophilia Day, Believers Church Medical College Hospital, Thiruvalla, in collaboration with the Pathanamthitta Hemophilia Self-Help Group, organized a special awareness program and honoring ceremony. The event focused on comprehensive care for hemophilia patients and recent advancements in treatment.

The program led by the Clinical Hematology Department (RACTHAM) was inaugurated by Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr. Jomcy George.  Dr. Chepsy C. Philip, Head of Clinical Hematology, discussed emerging trends in hemophilia care. Jimmy Manuel, President of the Hemophilia Federation of India (Kerala Chapter), was honored for his contributions to treatment initiatives in Kerala. Speakers included Consultants Dr. Akash Chozhakkat, Dr. Elizabeth James, Dr. Bobi Abraham, Rev. Fr. Thomas Varghese, and Asso. Prof. Dr. Ann Mary John from Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, who highlighted modern technologies.

Jimmy Manuel addressed past challenges in hemophilia treatment and improvements through federation and government interventions. He noted that free prophylactic treatment is now available for all children under 18, advanced care for inhibitor patients exists in Kerala, and the hospital has become Pathanamthitta's premier one-stop hemophilia center, offering integrated services in hematology, orthopedics, physical medicine, lab diagnostics, and more.

The Hematology Department conducted an awareness class and a quiz for medical students, with Sara, Vinayak, and Alan securing first, second, and third places, respectively.
