World Physiotherapy Day was celebrated under the auspices of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Believers Hospital. The event was inaugurated by film actress Sminu Sijo. Rev. Fr. Sijo Pandapallil, Senate Member of Kerala University of Health Sciences and Manager of Believers Hospital, presided over the function.
Speakers included Dr. Geomcy George (Medical Superintendent – BCMCH), Dr. Lydia Jacob (Head of Geriatrics), Dr. Jyothi Krishnan (Head of Dietetics & Nutrition), Physiotherapist Asha Anna Mathew, Neurological Physiotherapist Smitha Aravind, Senior Physiotherapist Alexander V. Joseph, and Rev. Fr. Thomas Varghese.
Experts from various medical departments conducted informative sessions on the importance of physiotherapy and nutrition for the elderly, along with precautionary measures to prevent injuries.
The programs were led by Dr. Thomas Mathew (Head of PMR) and Biju Mattappally (Director of Rehabilitation).
