World Physiotherapy Day Celebrated at Believers Hospital
Believers Hospital marked World Physiotherapy Day with a special program organized by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The event was inaugurated by film actress Sminu Sijo, and presided over by Rev. Fr. Sijo Pandapallil, Senate Member of Kerala University of Health Sciences and Manager of Believers Hospital.
The program featured talks by Dr. Geomcy George (Medical Superintendent – BCMCH), Dr. Lydia Jacob (Head of Geriatrics), Dr. Jyothi Krishnan (Head of Dietetics & Nutrition), Asha Anna Mathew (Physiotherapist), Smitha Aravind (Neurological Physiotherapist), Alexander V. Joseph (Senior Physiotherapist), and Rev. Fr. Thomas Varghese.
Experts highlighted the role of physiotherapy and nutrition in promoting healthy aging, with a focus on preventive care to reduce injuries among the elderly. The sessions were led by Dr. Thomas Mathew (Head of PMR) and Biju Mattappally (Director of Rehabilitation).
