Prof. (Dr.) Ninan Chacko, MBBS, MS, MCh (Urol.), FRCS (Urol.) is a familiar name in the field of Urology Surgery in India. He was Professor of Urology on the Faculty of Urology at Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore India. He has trained many prominent Urologists now practicing all over the world.

He had his entire training at CMC, Vellore & obtained MBBS & MS [Gen Surg.] from Madras University and MCh [Urol] from MGR Medical University, Madras, India. He had further super-specialty training in Urology at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK and was awarded the FRCS [Urol.] by the Inter-Collegiate Board of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons.

He has extensive experience in Renal Transplant & Reno-Vascular Surgery, Endourology, Stone Surgery, Laparoscopic Urology, Paediatric Urology, Reconstructive Urology, & General Urology.

He was and is active in Urologic Society of India, Association of Southern Urologists & Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Association of Urologists, where he has conducted CMEs, Workshops and presented papers, and had been an office bearer. He has published over 60 papers in Peer reviewed International Medical Journals and a few Chapters in Textbooks.

Christian Medical College has been a pioneer in the use of IT for Health Care from the 70s. He had been chairman of the Hospital Computer Committee from 2000 to 2008 and Head of Medical IT from 2005 to 2008. He had been actively involved in conceptualising, developing, implementing & maintaining IT services at CMC, linking multiple campuses, and an extensive Network.
