Prof. Dr. Jacob Jesurun R. S. is the Deputy Director and The Dean of Student Affairs of Believers Church Medical College Hospital, Thiruvalla, Kerala. He completed his MBBS from the prestigious PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research and went on to do his Post Graduation in Pharmacology at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Pondicherry. After a short stint in Chennai, he joined Believers Church Medical College Hospital. He is currently the Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology. He got trained in Pharmacovigilance at the renowned AIIMS, New Delhi and the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ghaziabad and was instrumental in setting up the AMC at BCMCH. He is the coordinator of the same at BCMCH, which is consistently the number one AMC in the country. A committed teacher, team player and leader, he takes keen interest in all student activities and coordinates multiple value-added, innovative programs of the institution including INSPIRE, IGNITE, IMPACT, Foundation Program and many others. Trained in medical education at CMC Vellore, he also heads the medical education unit at BCMCH and conducts faculty development programs like BCME and CISP. As "teacher of teachers" he is involved in the capacity building of faculty at the institution. He is the Curriculum Committee Coordinator and is actively involved in the implementation of the CBME Curriculum. He also serves as the chief warden of the MBBS Hostels and is an active member of the disciplinary committee, Hostel Committee and Anti Ragging committee. He is also the official Faculty Advisor of the Students Union. He mentors and oversees the union activities and ensures seamless functioning of the Students Union. In the administration of the Hospital, he serves in his capacity as Deputy Director coordinating various programs and events. He is also the coordinator of the weekly institutional CME program called QUEST and has successfully conducted close to 50 such programs. He also is the Host and Coordinator for the Institutional Webinar Program and has hosted and organized more than 100 national and international webinars.
