World’s smallest pacemaker starts to beat
A leadless pacemaker, world’s smallest, was successfully implanted in the heart of an octogenarian with multiple co-morbidities, at BCMCH, the first in the South Kerala. The pacemaker had been implanted earlier for complete heart block and after 1 year, he developed recurrent pacemaker site infection. This left our doctors with the only option of using the new leadless pacemaker. Our team of Dr. Ravi Cherian Mathew and Dr. Leena Thomas achieved the feat.
