RENAISSANCE

Redesigning the role of Healthcare Social Workers

Medical Social Work has gained increasing relevance as society shifts from a collective ‘we’ to an individual ‘me’, leading to a decline in the community support that once helped individuals face adversity. Healthcare social workers play a vital role in supporting patients and families as they navigate structural, financial, and emotional challenges within the healthcare system.

In observance of the International Day of Social Work, the Department of Social Work, Believers Hospital, is pleased to invite you to its first symposium, RENAISSANCE – Redesigning the Role of Healthcare Social Workers. The symposium will explore present- day realities and opportunities for social workers in healthcare, emphasizing a humane approach that views the patient not as a case, but as a person.

This half-day symposium will include three sessions and a colloquium, aiming to raise awareness among social work professionals and to provide aspiring and practicing social workers with clarity, dignity, and a deeper understanding of their professional role through shared best practices and proven methods.

Expected Participants

  • BSW/MSW students
  • Social Work Faculty
  • Social Work Practitioners
  • Hospital Administrators
