The Bone Mineral Densitometry Workshop is a two-day certification course accredited by
the International Society of Clinical Densitometry. It is aimed at enhancing clinical
competence in Bone densitometry and Fracture risk assessment. This program is planned
on 14 and 15 March 2026 at Believers Church Medical College Hospital, Thiruvalla. The
workshop is being directed by Prof. Dr. Manju Chandran (Singapore General
Hospital) and Prof. Thomas Paul (CMC Vellore) is one of the lead faculty. They will be
supported by two other experienced national faculty (Prof. Kripa Cherian from CMC Vellore
and Prof. Nisha Bhavani from Amrita Hospital, Kochi). This program provides structured
training in DXA acquisition, interpretation of BMD, T- and Z-scores, adult and pediatric
reporting, artefact recognition, and FRAX-based clinical decision-making. Integrated online
modules and certification examinations ensure standardized, ISCD-aligned training for
healthcare professionals involved in bone health management.
