Miracles continue to happen in BCMCH

Ms Sukanya, a 23-year-old girl, was admitted under the Dept of DVL, with Pemphigus Vulgaris, a disease in which the body attacks its own tissue leading to painful blistering of the skin. She comes from an economically deprived background and was struggling to raise funds for her treatment, which includes high doses of systemic steroids, Mycophenolate Mofetil and IV Immunoglobulins. She required barrier nursing to avoid the infection. These immunosuppressive medications are quite expensive and she has to continue these drugs lifelong to combat the disease.

The treatment cost was around 3 lakh rupees. But with prayers and the support of a generous community, her treatment expenses were met and she was discharged.    The DVL department thanked all BCMCH family members who prayed for her, our Director for his support and guidance, Dr Mammen Paul for raising funds for her treatment through Crowdfunding, the administration for their empathy, compassion and understanding. We are grateful to a number of other kind-hearted people who contributed to support Sukanya and gave her joy in abundance.
